摘要
The aim of this paper is to describe the adaptation of the originally Canadian CHEQOL-25 questionnaire as the first ever tool allowing the measurement of quality of life in children with epilepsy in the Czech Republic. Attention will be paid especially to the reliability and validity of the Czech version of the questionnaire, and the conduction of explorative and confirmative factor analysis. It will be shown that in order to ensure sufficient clarity of the questionnaire in the Czech environment, it was necessary to make significant changes to its structure (in particular, changing responses from indirect to direct). It was subsequently necessary to eliminate some of the items in the original questionnaire and to make changes to its factor structure. After these adjustments, the questionnaire had satisfactory psychometric properties and due to its simplicity and clarity, we were able to use it even with children with impaired cognitive function.
