The paper describes the implementation and provides performance metrics of a pseudolite system which use signals of opportunity to enable high precision navigation in regions of GPS denial. The pseudolites have been developed for the U. S. Army. The flexible, software controlled architecture embedded in this system enables it to reconfigure itself to meet diverse threat scenarios. Results evaluating the performance of the pseudolite using HWIL simulators are presented for different combinations of GPS and pseudolite signals with different transmitter and receiver dynamics. The navigation capabilities of the pseudolite system in a field test are also provided. It is seen that depending upon the available transmitter constellation and geometry the pseudolites can provide highly precise positioning capability in GPS limited or denied areas.
