An Electromagnetic Model for Near-Field Imaging and its Numerical Simulations

摘要
In this paper, we propose an electromagnetic imaging model which describes the relationship between the echo signal and the radiated fields in an investigated area. Utilizing this model, a near-field object could be reconstructed if illuminated by radiation patterns with enough variety. As the reconstruction relies on the radiations that vary in the object area, signal bandwidth and antenna scanning are no longer necessary. This imaging mechanism may bring advantages in imaging speed and system complexity. In the numerical simulations, a near-field object is successfully reconstructed with an antenna excited at the single frequency of 30 GHz.
