摘要
The article shows the topical issues of financing higher education institutions. The study includes general estimates of higher education indicators in Ukraine and abroad. The analysis of the current state and trends of financing higher education institutions has identified the problematic aspects and threats to its further development in the light of experience. The author has offered the ways of further development of the mechanism of financing of higher education institutions. And this allows to expand the range of sources of attraction of financial resources for activation of their economic activity, as well as to achieve greater autonomy. The purpose of the article is to deepen theoretical and methodological foundations and to develop practical recommendations for financing higher education institutions that will give the opportunity to provide the necessary prerequisites for their development.The article is based on general scientific methods of cognition: analysis and synthesis, functional and system analysis, induction and deduction, historical-logical method, system-structural method, analogies and quantitative and qualitative comparisons, graphic, economic-statistical methods of information collection and processing, in particular sample studies, groupings, statistical comparisons of absolute and relative values, the method of logical generalization, the method of analysis of hierarchies. Results. Financing of higher education institutions is a process of providing the necessary financial resources for subjects of all institutional sectors of the economy, types of economic activity, in particular education and its institutions. The stages of evolution of the development of higher education institutions in Ukraine have been identified and it has been made an appropriate forecast. There were highlighted the threats to the functioning of institutions of higher education according to the level of risk (from the lowest to the highest) which was based on the method of hierarchy analysis. According to the particular groups of threats there were proposed the appropriate mechanisms and tools for their elimination.
