Analysing of Profitability and Performance of ICT Sector in Malaysia by Using Financial Statement

摘要
This study explores the profitability and performance of the Information and Communication Technology (ICT) Sector in Malaysia by using financial statement in term of sales and financial ratio. Osiris Database which containing detailed information and include a lot of financial reports on listed companies around the world are used to analyse the data in Malaysia's listed companies; 30 ICT companies in Malaysia are chosen to be analysed. The data on financial information is within 5 consecutive years (2008-2012) and reviewed retrospectively. The result found that the mean value of sales increased but fluctuated in financial ratio over the years which affect the performance of ICT to maintain in up-middle income and challenge to achieve high performance status in ICT development. The most common effects include low in infrastructural, the transition of the ICT industry, and economy slowdown that affect the growth of Malaysian ICT.
