On the security of 802.11 wireless networks

摘要：
This paper deals with the security issues of wireless networks implemented in IEEE 802.11 technology. The problems related to its use to build wireless LANs or ad-hoc networks are thoroughly investigated, resulting in a taxonomy of security features, vulnerabilities, and attacks. Starting from this taxonomy, the current and future solutions proposed to cope with the 802.11 security problems (that is WEP, 802.11i, TKIP, CCMP and 802.1X) are evaluated with respect to their robustness, performance and compatibility with a general security architecture.
