摘要
The out-of-plane orbital magnetic moment of Co in Co/Pt multilayers which possess varying degrees of perpendicular magnetic anisotropy have been investigated using techniques which included magnetic X-ray circular dichroism (MXCD). The magnitude of the orbital d moment per Co atom, m(orb), was found to have increased in the multilayer structures compared to that of a single thick Co film, and this increase was found to scale approximately linearly to the magnitude of the effective anisotropy energy.
