摘要
International Seed Testing Association methods for seed moisture testing were used to determine the moisture content of ginseng seeds. Moisture content was determined for intact, ground and cut seeds by oven-drying at 103 degrees C for 17 hours. Using intact or ground seeds underestimated seed moisture content. Therefore, cutting seeds in half and drying at 103 degrees C for 17 hours is recommended as the standard method for ginseng seeds. As expected, ginseng seed lots from six different regions (five from China and one from Korea) differed in moisture contents. Seed size had no effect on moisture content.
