Modelling knowledge demand and supply. Knowledge-based decision support for resourcing and organisational planning

摘要
While evidence abounds of fundamental change to business organisation and work arrangements, organisations remain constrained by outdated, industrial-era models of the firm, of labour markets and employment. New lenses are required through which to interpret and predict changes in the business environment. Using knowledge-based theories of the firm, this paper describes approaches to mapping knowledge links to enterprise strategy and processes, and identifying the characteristics of knowledge demand and supply. The resultant framework helps individuals and organisations understand changes to firm-market boundaries and work arrangements, and to develop strategies for more effective selection and organisation of internal and external knowledge resources.
