Failure analysis of power distribution systems in Thailand

摘要
This research studies the failure rates and outage causes of electrical components of distribution systems in Thailand. The electrical components in distribution systems are divided into six groups including overhead lines, underground fines, protective equipments, power transformers, distribution transformers, and capacitors. The failure rates of each group are calculated from the Provincial Electricity Authority (PEA) database containing more than 600,000 outage events during 2001-2005. Such data also indicate the causes of outages, for example, trees, animals, nature disasters, humans, which are found relative to the geography of the country. From the results, it can be concluded that the distribution systems on the locations different in geography can yield a variation in the failure rate.
