Thermal conductivity of rare-earth nickel borocarbides

YNi2B2C and LuNi2B2C are relatively high T-c superconductors (T-c=15.6K and 16.6K, respectively) for quaternary intermetallic compounds. Recent neutron scattering experiments show anomalous phonon behavior below T-c for both YNi2B2C and LuNi2B2C. Thermal conductivity measurements have been performed and indicate a strong enhancement below T-c in the thermal conductivity of LuNi2B2C, and a weaker enhancement below T-c for YNi2B2C which is similar to measurements previously reported by others for YNi2B2C.
