New research methods of coherent structure based on wavelet analysis

摘要
A new energy maxima criterion, which can clearly distinguish fundamental wave and subharmonic with Morlet wavelet, has been presented. A new formula, which can be used to not only truly reconstruct the wave shape and amplitude of coherent structure, but also eliminate the disturbance of high frequency signal, has been presented utilizing the peculiarities of Morlet wavelet and orthonormal wavelet. At the same time, an average algorithm to compute structure exponent using Mexican hat wavelet has been presented. The results of applying these methods to the study of fluctuation velocity of round jet flow illustrate that these methods can be used to investigate turbulence.
