摘要
This study presents a new statistical model to predict the collection efficiency, cake thickness. cake porosity. and pressure drop across filter cakes during the particulate filtration of gases. This model is based on generation Of a random distribution of particle sizes and particle falling locations. The model predicts the cake collection efficency. which was found to be strongly dependent on the ratio of the mean particle size to the mean pore size of the filter medium. The average cake porosity decreases with increasing cake thickness and the pressure drop increases when the mean particle diameter decreases. (C) 2004 Elsevier Ltd. All rights reserved.
