摘要
In this paper, the concept of traffic conflicts is primarily clarified. Then the course of traffic conflict is analyzed, and the relationship between conflicts and accidents is discussed. Two important concepts, conflict value and the ability to avoid risk are discussed. On these bases, the mechanism of traffic accidents is presented. The gap acceptance theory is introduced, and three methods determining the critical gap are summarized. from correlative factors such as reaction time of the driver, the gap, the speed of the vehicle on the major road, pavement friction, and the acceleration rate; the discrimination formula of the traffic conflict and the traffic accident is established and the critical curve is protracted. At last, the evaluation index and differentiation criterion for the unsignalized priority intersections are determined based on the simulation results.
