摘要
We report on results from 80 hours of livetime with the Goldstone Lunar Ultra-high energy neutrino Experiment (GLUE). The experiment searches for microwave pulses (width less than or equal to 10 ns) from the lunar regolith, appearing in coincidence at two large radio telescopes separated by 22 kin and linked by optical fiber. Such pulses would arise from subsurface electromagnetic cascades induced by interactions of up-coming similar to 100 EeV neutrinos in the lunar regolith. Triggering on a timing coincidence between the two telescopes significantly reduces the terrestrial interference background, allowing operation at the thermal noise level. No unambiguous candidates are yet seen. We report on limits implied by this non-detection, based on new Monte Carlo estimates of the efficiency.
