摘要
A calibration method is proposed and proved feasible for implementing a new local approach to cleavage fracture of steels. The key is to adopt an elastic-perfectly plastic model to determine the maximum principal stress of each point at initial yielding as cleavage threshold stress for calculating the modified Weibull stress.
