Cathodoluminescence of Y2O3:Eu Thin Films Obtained by RF Sputtering

摘要
The cathodoluminescent (CL) properties of Y2O3:Eu thin films obtained by RF magnetron sputtering were investigated. The number of Eu3+ ions in C-2 states of lower symmetry was hypothesized to be greater in the film bulk than on the surface based on studies of the CL spectral intensity as a function of the exciting-electron energy and current density. It was shown that film structural defects and the excitation conditions influenced the kinetic characteristics of the red emission of Y2O3:Eu at 612 nm that was due to the electric dipole transition 5D(0) -F-7(2).
