An interactive 3D general offset curve generation and its application

摘要
A type of 3D general offset curve to generate a space curve interactively is introduced in this paper, some properties and an offset approximated algorithm are derived. As an application, a space curve combined with two planar curves is interactively generated by general offset algorithm, and the shape of a space curve can be modified intuitively by changing the shape of two planar curves. Finally, the interactivity. and efficiency of the algorithm is verified by examples, which are implemented in a commercial geometric modeling system Gems 5.0 developed by CAD Center of Tsinghua University.
