The combustive reduction of 2-(2,4-dichlorophenoxy) propionic acid by mechanochemical methods

摘要
We report on the mechanochemical degradation of 2-(2,4-dichlorophenoxy)-propionic acid on inorganic substrates under autopropagating high temperature regime. Either Ca or CaH2 hydride were used as reducing agent. The main solid reaction end-products were CaO, CaCl2 and CaC2. The evolved reaction heats suggested, and the chemical analysis proved the complete decomposition of the aromatic halides. Some insight into the reaction mechanism were gained running in parallel hexachlorobenzene and 2-phenoxy-propionic acid over the two substrate.
