摘要
6 outstanding male players who participated in the class 4-5 para table tennis event of the 2012 London Paralympics were the research subjects of this study. A comparative analysis of wheelchair table tennis basic skills and tactical requirements was conducted through an observation of videos and statistical records and an analysis of 6 international competitions. Certain patterns and characteristics of wheelchair table tennis men's singles competitions were identified and the findings are as follows: center dot Male players in class TT4-5 mainly use shakehand grips and pimple in rubber which offers them larger strike surface areas and allows them to apply more force and achieve higher speeds and stronger spin. Wheelchair players in class 4, on the other hand, favour pimple out rubber with the different side by a ratio of 3 1, which allows offensive and defensive styles and higher stability as well as game rhythm variations and varying levels of spin. Male wheelchair table tennis matches are short with a small number of games and short rallies with long intervals during matches. Matches are characterized by a fast pace and rhythm with short rallies of high intensity. center dot Service-attack was the most widely employed tactic among male players in class TT4-5 and represents the main means to score points. The backhand serve technique was used frequently and serves were placed middle long or in the backhand long serves. Male players in class TT4-5 won many points directly with the serve and the best results were achieved if this frequently used technique was combined with 3rd and 5th strike attacks. The control technique was favoured when it comes to receiving attacks tactics. Players adopt a rather conservative attitude as far as service returns are concerned and the willingness to initiate active attacks is rather low. Wheelchair players favour placement areas middle long to generate body shots, apply pressure on opponents, and prevent opponents from initiating attacks. During the stalemate stage, players mainly utilize the active attack technique. A high willingness to attack is required during this stage. Control techniques are also used to a certain extent. High levels of stability are therefore required for transition tactics such as pushes and chops.
