Reducing latency in ad hoc networks by pre-fetching

摘要
Mobile Ad Hoc networks consist of mobile nodes that communicate in the absence of a fixed infrastructure. Existing protocols incur a communication delay during the route discovery process as a node moves from one location to another new location. In this paper we propose an approach to reduce the latency due to route discovery by utilizing location information of mobile hosts to derive routing information for a destination node in advance. Simulation results validate the proposed pre-fetching scheme.
