Requirements Regarding Structure and Level of Detail for Schedules and Sequence Plans for Construction Projects - Part 2: Application on the Realization of Construction Projects
The previously published research as part 1 points out that terms like "Schedule" and "Sequence Plan" are presently according to the literature not defined unambiguously and therefore used synonymously [16]. Furthermore the level of detail derived from requirements of the specific project are not given. Hence at first "Schedules" were assigned to the sphere of the principal while "Sequence Plans" were located at the contractor's side. Based on this, the required level of detail is determined according to the geometrical and the contractual structure of the respective project. The arguments are provided by well-known theories of division of work leading to the theory of coordination and motivation. The inherent asymmetry of information ex ante and ex post for contractee and contractor introduced by incomplete contracts depending on the coordination modes "Market" and "Hierarchy" will therefore be eliminated by the proposal of explicit requirements for "Schedules" and "Sequence Plans". Hence prerequisites are given to recognize possible collisions of activities and therefore to implement appropriate measures to avoid them.
