Effect of Curcumin on LH and FSH Hormones of Polycystic Syndrome Induced by Letrozole in Female Rats

摘要
Infertility was the worldwide problem, and the female considers 50% of causes infertility defects in the world. Nowadays, scientists are searching for natural material for treated the reproductive deficiency and female infertility. Curcumin natural material was used as an antioxidant, anti-inflammatory and lipid-lowering in newfangled studies. Forty females adult Wistar rats were divided into four groups; control was received vehicle only, and the other three groups induced the polycystic ovary by given orally at a dosage of 1 mg/kg letrozole and dissolved 1% carboxy-methylcellulose every day in 21 days. The third and fourth groups were treated with curcumin in (100 and 200 mg/kg) intraperitoneal for 14 days, blood and ovary samples of all groups were taken for histological studies. In conclusion, curcumin showed many beneficial effects in treating polycystic syndrome conditions and inducing ovulation. Curcumin restored the hormone to normal as well as ovarian morphology in letrozole induced polycystic syndrome animals.
