摘要
The effects of roughness arc important in the design of surface texture to minimise friction and wear. In this paper, we developed a three-dimensional numerical model to study the contact between a rough surface and a rigid plane. Important data induced normal loads distribution, local coefficient of friction, and then the tangential load on each asperity. We can also determine the stress distribution, which depends on the contact pressure, real area of contact and local coefficient of friction. The temperature distribution owing to the heat generation over the real contact areas for sliding problems can be given. This parameter depends on the size of the real contact area, the coefficient of friction, the sliding speed and the thermal material properties.
