Propagation measurements for indoor mobile picocells coverage

摘要
The rapid increase on the demand for mobile telephone has lead the operating companies to use cell splitting in order to increase capacity. This tends to reduce the cells sizes to what is called picocells, which suits offices or factories environments. Eventually the next generation of mobile systems, PCS, will be introduced helping to cope with the high demand. Although the frequency of PCS System will be around 1800 MHz, the aim of this work is to verify how a 900 MHz signal behaves inside building along corridor and rooms receiving a signal from inside and from outside. The attenuation due to obstructing material is to be determined. In the next set of experiments the 1800 MHz frequency will be used.
