摘要
This work shows the importance of utilizing the nonlinear properties of the semiconductor optical amplifier SOA in constructing optical logic gates, half and full adders, flip-flops, counters and registers. Consequently, SOA may be considered as a promising component for building all-optical digital computer. By using the SOASIM software, this paper shows how the optical buffer, inverter, unit-step pulse and falling/rising clock edges can be generated
