摘要
Various types of metal carbonate materials are applied to the preparation of Y2O3:Eu phosphor particles in spray pyrolysis. The effects of metal carbonate flux on the crystallinity, morphology, and photoluminescence (PL) characteristics of Y2O3:Eu phosphor particles are investigated. Crystallinity and morphology of particles cannot completely elucidate the effect of metal carbonate flux on the PL intensities of Y2O3:Eu phosphor particles. The main function of metal carbonate flux in improving the PL intensities of phosphor particles is elimination of surface defects of particles. The alkali metal carbonate flux eliminates the surface defects of particles by partial melting of particles at high temperature.
