摘要
This paper deals with an experimental investigation of journal bearing failure. An experimental device is designed through refitting model - S-195 diesel engine. Though the research on monitoring the failure of journal bearing with lubricating-oil pressure wave in the oil pipe, the author presents that bearing scratch is mainly caused by the poor efficient flux of oil. Moreover, when the bearing is scratched, the peak value of lubricating-oil pressure wave has a knee point. The experimental investigation has proved that the pressure wave diagnosis is an efficient technique to monitor the early failure of journal bearing.
