摘要
Few people in their career are likely to be involved in the design of even one immersed tunnel or submerged floating tunnel. By understanding what they are, and knowing how they perform, they can be included in the options considered for a crossing. Knowing what decisions need to be made and therefore how to optimize these tunnels, more are likely to be built. Costs can then be kept down, making them more competitive against alternates.
