摘要
In practice, supply chain research is mostly focussed on one specific (type) of supply chain. Nevertheless it would be very useful to be able to describe that chain in a simple and unambiguous way, such that its characteristics can be compared with those of other supply chains. This paper describes a model for categorising supply chain characteristics that will make it possible to compare supply chains on characteristics in one or more categories. Initially, this model was developed and adapted to describe the relation between supply chain characteristics and the possibility of a successful introduction of a ProMES-based performance measurement system (PMS) on operational level in a chain. However, the general framework can also be used in other applications in the future.
