摘要
The fundamental electromagnetic properties of left handed materials (LHM) and the physical realization of these materials, based on general transmission line (TL) approach, are analyzed. Features and applications of microwave devices based on composite left/right hand transmission lines (CLRH TL) are also discussed. LHM are the artificial structures which can be designed to exhibit specific electromagnetic properties. It was observed that the CRLH structure possessed a refractive index of -3.40 at an operational frequency of 3.737 GHz.
