An empirical study on investor relations within Chinese listed companies

摘要
We investigate the status in quo of Investor Relations within 88 companies listed in Shanghai Stock Exchange on the Internet. The results confirm that the status in quo of Investor Relations in China is very wicked. Only 11 (12.5%) companies had an Investor Relations title on its website, which indicates that most companies are still not cognizant of the importance of Investor Relations for a listed company. From the correlation analysis, we find that up to present whether a company would disclose financial materials or have an Investor Relations title on its website, it is not relate to its listing years, located place, size, EPS or ratio of earnings to equity, but only related to whether a company has established a website and whether the website can be entered successfully. Now listed companies in China should recognize the importance of Investor Relations and carry Investor Relations management into execution immediately.
