Fe3O4 magnetic nanoparticles (MNPs) were synthesized via chemical precipitation method and used as an efficient and recyclable catalyst in ketalization of isatins. It was found that a solvent free process, under irradiation of sonic waves provides good to excellent yields of the desired ketals. (C) 2015 The Authors.
