摘要
Adaptive spectrum utilization in the Cognitive Radio Networks (CRN) is an important research objective which is enticing the attention of the research community. As the term, adaptive indicates the usage of the spectrum as and when it is not being used by the Primary User (PU) who is the licensed user. To overcome the dearth in spectrum, the Federal Communication Commission (FCC) has opted for this paradigm shift of using the allotted spectrum when not in use. The Secondary User (SU) can grab the opportunity of using the spectrum when it is not used by PU. The hurdles faced in this direction are spectrum scheduling betwixt PU and SU, attainment of significance of Quality of Service (QoS) and secured spectrum sensing. The QoS in Cooperative Spectrum Sensing (CSS) is important and assurance of the required QoS levels to the SUs of the Cognitive Radio Ad Hoc networks (CRAHN) in acclimating the spectrums is one of the challenge. The mutual support of the SUs is the other task directed in this proposal. To this, few metrics are formulated that comprise appraisal of the neighbor demeanor to track the mutual collaboration of the SUs in CSS. The metrics used will exploit the QoS for CSS in CRAHN. The simulation results exhibit that the metrics suggested enhancing the performance of CSS when compared to the contemporary method. The metrics used are defined and the performance is also assessed using throughput, Packet Delivery Ratio (PDR) and End to End delay.
