Single-crystal magnetoresistivity and magnetic susceptibility of the Kondo semimetal U2Ru2Sn

摘要
Resistivity rho(T), magnetoresistivity Deltarho/rho, and magnetic susceptibility chi(T) measurements on a single crystal of the nonmagnetically ordered Kondo semimetal U2Ru2Sn are presented. The resistivity is highly anisotropic and yields band-gap values according to an activation-like description that differ by two orders of magnitude depending on the current direction. The temperature dependence of magnetoresistivity for both perpendicular arrangements (jparallel toc, Bparallel toa, or jparallel toa, Bparallel toc) renders the same behavior (Deltarho/rho positive with a peak near 25 K). In the longitudinal arrangement, jparallel tocparallel toB, the magnetoresistivity is much smaller and changes sign at the temperature of a knee in rho(T) at 30 K. (C) 2003 Elsevier Science Ltd.
