摘要
Through bioinformatics, the melding of molecular biology with computer science, scientists are putting applications such as bio-simulation, protein structure prediction, drugs design. But bioinformatics jobs are often CPU-intensive and memory demanding. It often cost several hours to process a single bioinformatics task. Computational Grids, coupling geographically distributed resources have emerged as a next generation computing platform for solving large-scale problems in bioinformatics arena. This paper present a new Grid-enabled pipeline for siRNA(Small Interfering RNA) design based on conventional siRNA design method The siRNA Design pipeline presented in the paper transforms many siRNA design strategies into an automated process that saves time and improves accuracy. Also, this paper illustrate the interaction between siRNA design application and other components in the Grid including Grid resource broker, MDS, GRAM, etc. The Grid-enabled pipeline has important practical value for RNAi drugs design.
