Comparison of Effectiveness and Safety for the Apixaban and Low-Molecular-Weight Heparin in Prevention of Deep Vein Thrombosis after Hip Replacement

The aim was to analyze the efficacy and safety of apixaban versus low-molecular-weight heparin (LMWH) for the prevention of deep venous thrombosis after the hip arthroplasty. Fifty patients with primary unilateral hip arthroplasty in The Yijishan Hospital of Wannan medical College between January 2020 and December 2020 were selected, which were randomly divided into apixaban group and low-molecular-weight heparin group. They were given drugs at 6 h after replacement, the patients in the apixaban group were given apixaban 5 mg/day with the course of 5 weeks; the another were given low-molecular-weight heparin 4 100 U/d with the course of 2 weeks. There were no significant differences between two groups (p > 0.05). The results indicate that full course of apixaban has clear effect and reliable security in the prevention of deep venous thrombosis after hip arthroplasty.
