摘要
The resulting morphologies and thus the usage characteristics of polymer blends are mainly determined by the droplet break-up and coalescence processes taking place in parallel inside the screw extruders, In order to estimate the drop size of the secondary component of incompatible polymer systems dispersedly distributed in the surrounding continuous phase, models are formulated and transferred to algorithms, These algorithms can then be implemented irate the simulation software SIGMA for the design and simulation of the process behavior of co-rotating twin screw extruders (TSE). This allows the estimation of the resulting morphology development of incompatible polymer systems along the screws in dependence of the used materials, barrel and screw configurations as well as the process parameters.
