A study on the variation of solidification contraction of A356 aluminum alloy with Sr addition

摘要
The effects of Sr addition on the variation of the range of the semiliquid zone of aluminum alloys were investigated and the results were compared with microstructures of each specimen. The relation between eutectic temperature and semi-liquid temperature range was studied with the variation of strontium level. It was found that the morphology of eutectic silicon changed from a fine-flake shape to a fibrous shape with the increase of the strontium level.
