摘要
X-Ray Tomography is an analytical technique developed in the mid-twentieth century with a main application focused on medicine and then extended to the industry, including museums. In this sense, it begins to be use in the field of archaeology and heritage. It also higlights its use in the field of Natural History, especially in paleontology to analyze fossils. In this work, we present some examples of application in specimens of the Natural History Museum of the University of Santiago de Compostela, analyzed with the own tommographical resources of the University. These specimens are mamuth fossils, metcorits, taxidermy pieces and gastropods shells. The purpose of the study is to present the versatility of the technique in terms of objects that can be scanned and contribute to spanding the use of this technique in museum pieces with conservation, researching and divulgation objetives.
