摘要
Continuous high-pressure torsion (CHPT) was developed as an expeditious process to effect severe plastic deformation. Using the CHPT, sheets of high purity aluminum, copper, and iron were successfully processed by introducing intense shear strain under high pressure. The results of hardness measurements after CHPT were well consistent with those of CHPT using disk and ring specimens. Microstructural observations demonstrated that CHPT can be used as a continuous process for grain refinement.
