Although the skeletal muscle and the heart are two anatomicol distinct tissues, they hove several similarities. Primary myogenic disorders may have a cardiac involvement and vice versa. Weakness, muscular atrophy and myalgias ore the most important symptoms in myopathies. However, cardiac involvement in myopathies may have a wide influence on quality of life and on life expectancy. In this paper hereditary and acquired muscle diseases with cardiac involvement are presented.
