Evaluation of the Efficiency of Fluoropolymer Gaskets Taking Cold Flow into Account

摘要
The sealing and relaxation characteristics of fluoroplast-4 gaskets are studied. It is established that, at the same specific pressure, the use of wider gaskets can increase sealing of the working pressure by about 25%. The influence of the stress level and time on the value of the relaxation modulus is also studied. A safety coefficient is proposed that takes the relaxation of specific pressures into account. Results of a control experiment conducted to assess the adequacy of the relaxation model are presented along with practical recommendations.
