Applications of modern information technology - the management philosophy engendered by TQM and BPR, global networks, the Internet, intranets, mass customization and integrated logistics, and data warehousing and mining - have significantly affected business profitability and productivity. By standing ready to serve as innovators in continuing this trend, IS people will not only help their organizations compete, but will also help finally lay the productivity paradox to rest.
