Flow accelerated corrosion in industrial boiler feedwater systems

Flow Accelerated Corrosion (FAG) is a topic that has received significant attention as it applies to the electric utility industry. Although the mechanism of feedwater system FAC is the same in industrial steam generating systems, the solutions may be different due to the inherent differences in systems designed to generate steam for dedicated electricity production as opposed to those generating steam in industrial applications where electricity generation is a secondary or ancillary consideration.
