摘要
Reel-laying offers a good method for installing small- to medium-sized pipelines and infield flowlines in both shallow and deep waters. Reel-laying commences at an onshore spoolbase, which provides a controlled environment for welding, nondestructive testing, and field joint coating that yields high quality. Labor and support costs are lower than offshore work expenses and the weather has almost no effect on fabrication. The rapid laying of the pipeline means that installation can be achieved in a very narrow weather time frame.
