NEWTON'S METHOD FOR COMPUTING THE FIFTH ROOTS OF p-ADIC NUMBERS

摘要
We consider Newton's method to compute the fifth root of a p-adic number in Q(p). We have the sufficient conditions for the convergence of Newton's method and the speed of its convergence. We also calculate the number of iterations to obtain a number of corrected digits in the approximation.
