Anthracofibrosis Manifesting as False-Positive Iodine Accumulation in a Patient With Recent History of Thyroid Carcinoma

摘要：
A 33-year-old Indonesian woman presented for follow-up after a recent history of papillary thyroid carcinoma treated with total thyroidectomy and radioiodine therapy. A I-131 whole-body scintigraphy showed an elongated iodine accumulation in the right hemithorax. On suspicion of pulmonary metastasis, further diagnostics with I-124 PET/CT showed thickening of the bronchial wall and retention of secretion in a middle lobe bronchus. Bronchoscopy and histology allowed a diagnosis of stenosing anthracofibrosis with chronic inflammatory changes.
