Work product principles are misrepresented by a significant number of modern engineering text book writers who link it with the principle of conservation of energy. It is shown herein that the work product principle is totally unrelated to the principle of conservation of energy and, although it is used in Newtonian mechanics, is not associated with Newtonian work and therefore the principle of conservation of energy.
