摘要
The article arises from a bibliographic research on the type "State-of-the-Art" in periodicals, dissertations and theses. It aims to analyze thematic approaches referring to mural art and Cultural Heritage, in order to present the academic scenario, considering two ways of artistic expressions: integrated mural artwork and graffiti. Regarding mural artwork, Brazilian and international scientific productions address historiography of images and documentation through the elaboration of an inventory of art pieces which historical, social and artistic relevance are described and demonstrated, as an effort to prove the merit of elevation as cultural heritage, in order to grant protection and preservation. The graffiti themed researches expose social and political conflicts that provoke discussion and actions, both political and judicial, for protection and preservation. The two ways problematize the Cultural Heritage management in Brazil, based on the concepts of authenticity and everlasting values, and are going to be discussed using the perspectives of Poulot (2009) Heinich (2009) and Coelho (2008).
